Ilias Chanis

I am a PhD student at Chalmers University of Technology, working in Secura Lab under the supervision of Muoi Tran. I am interested in the intersection of AI and Cybersecurity. My research focuses on using AI/Machine Learning to improve Network Security capabilities, offensively and defensively. Currently, I am working on data-driven BGP security and generating datasets with malicious network traffic.

I obtained my Integrated Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Democritus University of Thrace, in Greece. My thesis, supervised by Avi Arampatzis was about improving Machine Learning techniques for Phishing Email Detection. I have worked as a System Administrator for Democritus University of Thrace and as a Software Engineer for CERN.
